Tour-Pak 1/2" Fixed Flag Mount

On 8th of July 2019, I ordered 2 flag kits from Pro Pad Inc. I ordered a 6 x 9 “Support Our Troops” flag with a 9” pole and a U.S. Army crest topper. I also ordered and a 10 x 15 “U.S. Parade” flag with a 13” pole and standard topper. I received the flag kits on the 11th of July 2019. I immediately mounted the flags on my 2019 Road Glide Ultra tour-pak. On the 12th of July 2019, I left for my first overnight road trip after the flags were mounted. A day later, during my return leg of the trip, I glanced in my review view mirror and noticed that the U.S. flag was not there. I pulled to the side of the road to see what happened. The base of the flag was still there, however, the pole and the U.S. Parade Flag were missing. I drove back 10 miles searching for the flag and pole. I was unable to locate either. After I reached home, I analyzed the situation, and determined that I probably should have used temporary blue “Loctite” to secure the flag in the base. I was disappointed in my lack of proper installation.
I very much wanted to purchase another 10 x 15 U.S. Parade Flag because it looked so impressive on my Harley. On the 15th July 2019, I called Pro Pad and talked to representative who told me her name was Tracy. I explained what happened and asked if temporary “Loctite” should have been used.
She explained that temporary “Loctite” was recommended especially for the 10 x 15 U.S. Parade flag. She expressed sympathy for my situation [...] [and worked with me to find a solution] . I received the [replacement] items only two days later and immediately mounted them on my Harley. (note: using temporary blue “Loctite”). I have ridden several miles without incident and both flags are flying proudly!
Even though the loss of my flag was completely my fault, I want to thank Pro Pad so much for standing behind their great product!

This was so easy to install, even I could do it. Took it for a ride and evidently I didn't tighten it enough as they folded back at 75mhp. Stopped, torqued it tighter and it was good to go. It looks great on my bike! Don't need to go shopping anywhere else. Great product at a great price.

I have been ordering from Propad (funny name) for years, I never even shop anywhere else. It belongs in a category with a handful of vendors for which I never price-shop or "look around", I just buy it.

The quality of the mont is top-flight. The topper is secured with red loct-tite so it may be possible to remove it but it would be very difficult. As a result, you change flags by removing a set screw and pulling the pole out of the mount. They supply the wrench you need which is good because it is an SAE allen and I have no SAE tools. They also supply the SAE allen to install the mont to the tour pack rack.

The appearance is just spectacular, super high-quality parts always look so good.

Tips:
Use blue loc-tite on the two allen bolts mounting the base and VERY IMPORTANT on the allen set screw that holds the pole in the base. The install directions should be updated to reflect this advice. (PRO PAD NOTE: This is on the instruction card.) I lost a pole on my first time out. Propad should also toss a couple of one-use blue loc-tite packs in the box.

You will find cheaper but not better

Ordered a second time in need of tour pak mount and flag since I got a Ultra Limited. Best product around. The mount is absolutely solid! Held in place by the bracket itself and not a "screw" others use and they are cheap!
Pro Flag poles, mounts and confederate flags are the best.

Put it on my luggage rack looks great

These mounts fit perfectly on the tour pack rack on my 2017 HD Ultra Limited. They hold up in wind very well. Strongly recommend!
